It looks like they started out as a really crazy, racist, fascist group, but over time lost most of the racism and some of the fascism. They are taking on the issue of freedom of speech in the UK.

It's a shame how many westerners want everyone to give up their freedom of speech because Muslims don't like it. Freedom of speech is crucial to freedom of people in general, and is, or at least should be, a core value of any nation which calls itself free. I respect the right of anyone to believe what they want to believe, as long as it does not interfere with the freedoms of anyone else. Too many people in the western world are hung up on the first part of that statement, and ignore the second. Unfortunately Islam as many people practice it calls for the elimination of the freedoms of other people. This can NOT be tolerated.
